Empowering church leaders

Project Gateway

In 2019 A Rocha KZN started a partnership with Project Gateway in Pietermaritzburg.

Two Creation Care workshops were held for pastors, leaders, teachers and interested parties from the local communities in the Msunduzi region. Together we explored the concept of creation care and our role as believers with Murray Tessendorf.

The enthusiasm among the attendees and the resulting interaction was inspiring and laid the platform for exiting future collaboration.

DSC00600During 2014 A Rocha South Africa participated in two workshops arranged by the Endangered Wildlife Trust and the Responsible Tourism Foundation for church leaders to raise awareness and impart knowledge about the plight of the rhino and the Biblical calling to care for the whole creation. These church leaders have a massive following and can influence members and the community not to fall prey the scourge of poaching. One of the results of the workshop was that the pastors individually wrote sermons on creation care and shared the material with their colleagues.
