City clean-up in KwaZulu-Natal

The Action team of A Rocha in KZN recently had the opportunity to partner with a local church in Pietermaritzburg to assist with rehabilitation of a public area along the Duzi River within the Pietermaritzburg.

What was a garbage strewn tangle of overgrown invasive vegetation is now clear of litter and is being transformed into truly inviting area. Mention must be made of Sam Groves who has championed this project.

When we arrive it looked like this!

While we were busy, it looked slightly better

We are proud how it looked when we left!

Refreshments after the morning’s toil

The Pathway Rehabilitation Project in Pietermaritzburg is an initiative of Sam Groves from the ‘Church on the Ridge’ in partnership with A Rocha and Dave Still and Doug Burdon from DUCT. They all participated in a second successful day of cleaning an inner city park.

Work was also done at the Ferncliffe Nature Reserve.
